Gabriel Poulin-Lamarre, Experimental Physicist at D-Wave
Gabriel Poulin-Lamarre, Experimental Physicist at D-Wave

As a senior member of the processor development team at D-Wave Systems, Gabriel Poulin-Lamarre's work consists of characterizing the current generation of quantum processors as well as working on developing the next generation. He does so by investigating quantum behaviour in the 2000-qubit processor, doing low temperature device and material characterization, and software development.

James Pond, Chief Technology Officer at Lumerical

James Pond obtained his PhD at UBC developing strong skills for simulations, optics and Matlab. Previously senior scientist at Galian photonics, he is now CTO at Lumerical, a company that develops photonic simulation software to enable product designers to undersatnd light, and predict how it behaves within complex structures, circuits and systems.

Sang Mah, Strategic accounts director at Mitacs

In her seven years at Mitacs, Sang has helped bring companies and universities together for innovation and next gen talent training through internships, fellowships and cluster development. She has lead on projects from quantum computing to mining technologies to conservation to digital media.

Dominic Marchand, Researcher at 1QBit

Dominic Marchand leads a small team currently working on a client research project in the field of advanced materials. They are exploring classical algorithms and working on developing hybrid classical–quantum algorithms on problems relevant to our clients. His work is divided between the technical work, acting as a point of contact for the client, and enabling our team to do the best work that it can.
